The Gangachlam people are a tribe of the Khasi people who inhabit the state of Meghalaya in north-eastern India. They are one of the three major Khasi tribes and speak the Khasi language. The Gangachlam people are mainly subsistence farmers, growing rice, maize, and other crops. They are also hunters and gatherers, and are skilled in the making of baskets, mats, and other items from bamboo. The Gangachlam people are matrilineal and practice a form of tribal inheritance known as naga phera.
