GORIMUCCHus are a Native American people who reside in the northwestern United States. Their traditional territory includes the Columbia River basin and the adjacent inland valleys. The Gorimucchus are related to the Chinook, Kalispel, and Warm Springs tribes. The Gorimucchus are believed to have migrated to their present territory from the Great Lakes region about 1,000 years ago. At that time, they were part of the larger Athabascan-speaking culture. The Gorimucchus are known for their skill in basketry and their traditional clothing, which consists of a buckskin jacket and leggings. Today, the Gorimucchus live in small, scattered communities. They are employed as farmers, fishermen, and lumberjacks. The Gorimucchus are members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon.
