History:

The Jangondas are a sub-caste of the Maratha community in India. They are believed to be descendants of the ancient Maratha warrior-king Shivaji.
The Jangondas are believed to have been part of the Maratha army during the Maratha wars against the Mughals and the British. They were also responsible for defending the Maratha kingdom against invasions from the Mughals and other neighboring kingdoms.
