History:

Karanjis are believed to have their origins in the Kshatriya warrior caste of India.
Karanjis were traditionally warriors and rulers in the Indian states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka. During the British Raj, they were recruited into the British Indian Army and served as officers in the Indian Army after Indian independence.
