Origin and History of KATIKDALA

History:

The Katikdalas are a sub-caste of the Telugu-speaking community of Andhra Pradesh, India.
The Katikdalas trace their ancestry to the Nagaras, a warrior clan of the Telugu-speaking community. They are believed to have migrated to Andhra Pradesh from the neighbouring states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the 8th century.

Description:

The Katikdalas are known for their strong sense of community and their traditional cultural practices, such as celebrating festivals, playing music and singing, and observing religious rituals.
The Katikdalas follow the traditional customs of their community, such as the practice of arranged marriages and the observance of caste rules and regulations.
The Katikdalas are divided into two distinct sub-castes: the Madiga and the Kummari. Each of these sub-castes has its own unique customs and traditions.
