History:

The Ramajiyans are a caste of Brahmin origin, found mainly in the Indian states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They are believed to be descendants of the sage Vishwamitra, and are considered to be one of the five Pancha Dravida Brahmin communities.
The Ramajiyans trace their ancestry to the ancient sage Vishwamitra, who is believed to have been the first Brahmin to settle in South India. During the Vijayanagara period, the Ramajiyans were granted land by the rulers and given the responsibility of performing religious ceremonies and rituals.

The Ramajiyans are an orthodox community and follow the traditional Hindu customs and rituals. They are also known for their expertise in Vedic astrology and are considered to be experts in the field.
The Ramajiyans follow a strict code of conduct and adhere to the traditional customs and practices of Hinduism. The men are expected to wear a dhoti and shawl, while the women wear a saree. They also observe the Hindu festivals such as Diwali, Holi and Navratri with great enthusiasm.
The Ramajiyans are divided into two main branches - the Vadagalai and Thenkalai. The Vadagalai branch follows the teachings of Sri Ramanuja, while the Thenkalai branch follows the teachings of Sri Manavala Mamunigal. Both branches are further divided into sub-sects based on their place of origin.
