History:
Thikkara is an ancient Tamil Brahmin caste from the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The name is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Thikara’, which means ‘skilled’.
The Thikkara community is believed to have originated from the Chola dynasty, which was the most prominent dynasty in the region during the medieval period. During this period, the Thikkara Brahmins were appointed as administrators and were responsible for managing the affairs of the kingdom.
