History:
Umravmiyas are a sub-caste of the Maratha community in India. The name is derived from the Sanskrit word “Umravam” which means “noble”.
The Umravmiyas are believed to have originated from the Rajputs of Rajasthan and were a part of the Maratha Confederacy. They were also part of the Maratha Empire during the rule of Shivaji Maharaj.
