Bourdain, Anthony Bourdain, Anthony; French-born American chef, television personality, and author. Anthony Bourdain was born on August 25, 1956, in Paris, France. He is the son of French-born Elisabeth (née Boulud) and American chef, restaurateur, and author Pierre Bourdain. Bourdain's early childhood was spent in France, where his father ran a successful restaurant. Bourdain attended the Lycée Français de New York City and the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied philosophy. After graduating from college, Bourdain worked as a cook for several years in France and Italy. In 1988, he moved to the United States and began working as a chef in New York City. He became known for his innovative, creative cuisine and for his television shows, including 'Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations' and 'Parts Unknown.' Bourdain has also written several books, including 'Kitchen Confidential' and 'Medium Raw.' Bourdain was married to Italian actress Ottavia Busia from 2000 until their divorce in 2007. He is currently married to actress Asia Argento.
