The ChinnaMragoundar people are a Scheduled Tribe found in the Nilgiris, in Tamil Nadu, India. They are also known as the ChinnaMragundar, ChinnaMragundar Kurumbar, or ChinnaMragundar Vellalar. The ChinnaMragoundar people are believed to be of Dravidian origin. They are believed to have migrated from the north-western region of India around the 11th century. They are believed to have settled in the Nilgiris around the 15th century. They are agriculturalists and are also involved in traditional crafts such as pottery and weaving. The ChinnaMragoundar people are bilingual and speak Tamil and Telugu. They have their own customs and traditions. The ChinnaMragoundar people are Hindu and practise animism.
